columbia, sc maternity + newborn photography

This summer has been a little different for me- I started what most photographer’s know as a belly to baby package. I had the privledge to photograph three beautiful bellies and three beautiful newborns. Now, I am very new to the newborn scene and it has been a huge learning experience for me but I have loved every minute of it! I love working with repeat clients and the babies were too presh!
Many that know me where surpised that I have shown interest and have taken on newborns. I, admitidly, have always had a slight fear of babies and I never even held a newborn till I was almost 20. I’m one of those oh-my-gosh-I-don’t-want-to-hurt-them-what-do-I-do type people. But thanks to these wonderfil clients and wonderful babies I am much more comfortable and much more in love with newborns.
Here are the belly and the baby sessions I did this summer! Enjoy!
 ---------------------------

This is Jana and Anthony. I have worked with Jana before (as well as her sister) and I was excited to work with her on her maternity. Both their mother’s came to the session and we all had a good time. Anthony wasn’t too sure about the whole photo shoot thing but I think he warmed up to me after a little while. Baby Eli is the 2nd newborn boy I have photographed and he’s so photogenic! Look at his beautiful hair!

Meet Kelly and Michael. I met them through my sister and was excited when they asked me to photograph their maternity session. It was awesome because they had only told a hnadful of people their baby girls name (they were waiting till she was born to announce it) and I was one of them! I got to keep the secret for almost 2 months and my sister was dying to know the name. Miss. Jenalyn was such a doll and I could literally photograph her perfect cheeks for hours.

Jana and Greg are also friends of my sister and I’ve known them for a few years now. We shot the maternity photos on a super hot day and I think within 45 minutes we were all melting. Their first born, Jesse, came along for the session and did a great job consisdering all the wonderufl distractions the location had. Also, Jana had the most perfect baby bump! Sarah Elizabeth was a dream to photograph. I was able to more with her than any other baby (even though we were all sweating up a storm with the space heater).

everything is beautiful at the ballet...

I met Katharine (yes, with an “a” ;) last year when I did a session for her and her sister. I pretty much fell in love with shooting those girls. She contacted me and asked about doing a ballet session and I of course jumped at the opportunity! I have wanted to work with a dancer and Katharine is stunning. It was perfect.

We shot at the State House, Main Street, and Trinity Cemetery. I totally might have to beg her to do another session like this. I loved it and have so many new ideas!!

Here are some of my favorites!

columbia, sc wedding photography: runy wedding

I met Carol back in 2005 on a trip to Greece. My mother and Carol were in a "support" group for widowed spouses. You learn a lot about people when you travel with them and I can tell you Carol is one special lady.

She contacted me back in May and asked me to photograph her wedding and of course I was excited she asked me too! The day of, she was a ball of nerves, which I found super adorable. Her champagne colored dress was beautiful and John looked quite dapper in his khaki suit.

The wedding and reception were held at the Spring Valley Country Club. I forgot to ask what florist and baker she used but if anyone is interested  in finding out let me know!

Here are some of my favorites from the day.
